So you can play just released version of Smash Bros. for Wii U last month, the publisher also released a special USB dongle for its home console that connects four GameCube controllers to the new system. Nintendo did something neat as a favor to old Super Smash Bros.
GAMECUBE CONTROLLER FOR WII U GAMEPAD PRO
They shouldn’t ditch it.The GameCube controller will work just like a Wii U Pro Controller in other games. Too many dang controllers and GC was Nintendo’s best IMO. Wireless GC controller with clickable analogs (C-stick was kinda useless might as well be another analog), headphone support, a mic, rumble, navigation, and Wii mode support (registered as a GC controller or as a Classic Controller). Nintendo should leave the GameCube controllers to only playing GC and Wii games BUT instead of the faulty Wii U Pro Controller, release an improved, modern GameCube controller to act as the “gamer controller” and alternative to GamePad. The problem with the (awesome) GameCube controller is it’s corded with a slot to an old console. Also, terrible name and can’t navigate all the menus.) But the Classic Controller should be discontinued completely as well as the Wii U Pro Controller (no headphones and doesn’t work with Wii games in Wii Mode. Some games might use the Nunchuk so that can stay. Wiimote is useless now as most games will utilize the Motion Plus. We got Wiimote, Wii Remote Plus, Wiimote & Nunchuk, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii U GamePad, and then GameCube. This here is my biggest concern with Nintendo: too many controllers. A fourth player that will use the gamepad, while others use their Wiimotes? Similar to Rayman Legends with Murphy… Look at Pikmin 3, There’s only 3 players but a fourth was planned, perhaps the fourth was scrapped but I can bet he was replaced by a character you can’t see. Perhaps the idea is now even “U” the one with no gaming experience can play. We think the U is for us but we are the Wii. Perhaps that’s what the U in Wii U implicates? Last gen “Wii” were playing. They could have no knowledge of Smash or any fighting game yet they can still participate. Opening large crates, picking up and rolling barrells, controlling stage events etc. The one player that’s not on screen could use their touchscreen to interact with the battle. Smash 4 is most likely going to be built with the Wii U gamepad in mind though no? It may even be the first of the Wii U titles to use two gamepads! That way there could be a 5 player mode similar to NSMBU with four people fighting, while one of the four uses an Upad. To connect it all together just connect the Wii Remote Controller to your Wii or Wii U console, then plug your GC Controller to the adapter, and finally connect the adapter to your Wii Remote Controller. The button A, B, X, Y, L, R and Z can be customized with Turbo.Compatible with all games supported by the Wii Classic Controller Pro.Compatible with all games supported by the Wii Classic Controller.Below is a description of exactly what the adapter does – let us know if you’ll be purchasing this in the comments below. Simply plug the adapter directly into your Wii U and hey presto, those classics are just a button push away. Priced at $16.99 on Amazon, this gem is essential if you’d prefer to play with the GameCube pad. However, courtesy of a third-party seller named Total Console and produced by Mayflash, you can now have your GameCube box-shaped cake and eat it with their new GameCube controller adapter. When the Wii was launched it came with backwards compatibility for all your GameCube playing needs, but the Wii U unfortunately didn’t have this aspect.
